And so ends Chapter One. 25 pages, woo! I wish I could make comics my job so I could do a couple pages a week but ah well. Maybe some day...
I'd like to take a minute to thank a few people who've helped me get through this first issue. First, my brother, who always pushes me to better my artwork and who has helped me generate alot of ideas for Starsign as well as helping me focus on the things I want to say in each page. Second, Bill and Kyle Gibbons. Bill for being someone I can always talk to and get an honest opinion from and for being a great person to compete with, internally, to help me improve my artwork. Kyle, for helping us so much with the website and expecting nothing in return. Third, my friend Cellie who has probably had a great deal more influence on the dialog than anyone else, you're a great editor and I really appreciate it. Fourth, to my girlfriend Esca for always supporting me and for pushing me to always do my best. Finally, to you, the reader. I really appreciate anyone reading this comic and I'd like to thank those people telling their friends or posting on forums. Thanks everyone :)
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed the read. I've tried to keep improving the artwork and direction as best I can and I've had alot of fun doing it. This comic has been in my head for over 2 years and developing it has been a great experience and has also helped me learn a ton about art and writing.
Over the next week I plan to complete a cover design and a new chapter 1 title page that looks a little less...shitty. Drunk Duck will get the new chapter title but the cover page will be for people that buy the printed edition of the comic. I'm going to be including some of the Starsign artwork I've done as well as a couple of extra illustrations as well as bonuses. I need to have everything ready before I can get a price but I shall keep everyone posted!

Here we are, close to the end of the first chapter. It's been a thrill to work on and it's been painful at times, as well. I can't wait to get to work on Chapter 2, which I assure you will be significantly more awesome than Numero Uno. As it stands, I plan on finishing up the chapter next week and I'm hoping to get a new chapter title page (it looks just too awful) and a cover design done by Saturday as well.
Anyway, page 24 is done. This chapter is a little short, but I started in the middle of some serious action to (hopefully) get you, the reader interested in what was going on. I promise insights into what is happening are on their way in chapter 2. As always thanks for reading! If you think you'd be interested in purchasing a copy of the first issue when it goes to print, feel free to email me. I'm trying to get a sense for how many I should print. I'm looking to sell them for somewhere between 4 and 7 dollars depending on how much it costs to print. I'll have a definite cost sometime in the next week or two, I think. :)

Page 23 is live! Sorry for missing the last update, but my hand was hurting quite a bit. I think I may have sprained my wrist somehow, so I was trying to take it easy all week. Once we get to chapter 2, we will be on a strict Sunday update schedule, which will hopefully last right to the end of the chapter. Page 24 is already mostly done, so expect that for next Sunday!

Page 22 is up. Only a few more pages left before the end of the first chapter! I'm trying to figure out what my options are for marketing the first issue in case anyone's interested in the print version. Once we finish Chapter 1, I'll be taking some time to prepare Chapter 2 for a bit and also to get Chapter 1 looking better for print as some of the colours may need to be adjusted. It's tough because I hadn't really thought about printing it when I did the first few pages so those may be wonky as well. Alas! Anyway, hopefully page 23 will be ready within the week.

Page 21 has been uploaded to the site! Check it out by clicking the "Latest Page" slice at the top of the page (nice work, Kyle!)
As you can see, the site is mostly done thanks to Kyle's diligence this week. I'm going to be working on a new logo and better looking navigation images today so hopefully we'll have those up before the day is out. We'll see. Kyle's still working on fixing some of the weird little things about the Blackbird Sky site and the Starsign site *kicks the footer for being a jackass* but that should be handled soon. I imagine we'll also have some forums up relatively soon as well. Right now, the idea is to keep updating the site until we've got everything working. For now, the Starsign site will update in step with Drunk Duck, maybe a little earlier in the day, but once we start Chapter 2, this site will be either a week or two ahead of Drunk Duck (to help figure out what kind of traffic we're getting) and then eventually I may stop updating on Drunk Duck all together, as much as I wouldn't want to.
We're hoping to get the same kind of comment functionality and forum integration that DD has, anyway, so it'd be more a community for Blackbird comics rather than just comics in general. Plus, it's easier for us to use the main site as a general news board about what cons we'll be at and that sort of thing!

Welcome to the Starsign website! First off, I'd like to say thanks to Kyle Gibbons for working so hard on this. You did a great job and I really appreciate it! Next, let me say how excited I am that this up and running. For some reason, having the site up makes this more real and awesome. What a big step for all of us! As we finish up the Blackbird Sky site, we should be able to get a store up and running and offer some merchandise for anyone interested. Blackbird Sky will be the jump point for both Para-Ten and Starsign as well as various side comics that William and I come up with. We'll provide extra information about conventions, merchandise, and general news there, and just touch on things briefly on each of our sites.
News updates here will coincide with page updates unless something big comes up that absolutely must be talked about before then. Anyway, that's it. Thanks for visiting the site, hopefully our forums will be up soon, feel free to check them out when they're up, and let us know what you think!
